How To Store Peptides Properly
Proper storage keeps your peptides effective. Temperature requirements, reconstitution tips, and shelf-life info.
Why Storage Matters
Peptide degradation is the #1 cause of poor research results. Even small variations in temperature or moisture can break peptide bonds and render compounds ineffective.
Lyophilized (Dry) Peptides
• Store at -20°C long-term
• Can be kept at 4°C for up to 4 weeks
• Keep away from light and moisture
• Do not open until ready to use
Reconstituted Peptides
• Store at 2–8°C after mixing
• Use within 30 days
• Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles (>3 times)
• Use bacteriostatic water to extend shelf life
Common Mistakes
• Leaving peptides at room temperature for extended periods
• Using non-sterile water for reconstitution
• Storing in the door of the fridge (temperature fluctuates)
• Forgetting to label vials with date of reconstitution
